me CL earrings are here and i adore them. they are so cool and well put together. i had been checking for them for about a week and the poor package got soaked in the pouring rain on monday, but fortunately they were safe and secure in their little package. i know for a fact i will be ordering more from Annie... i got my eyes on those Twistas....mhhmmm those will definitely be poppin' off this summer!!
ps... check out her blog under fuchsiaMAG friends to see who's been rocking her joints and where you can grab your own.

so it's possible that i'm late on this one, but oh well.. so i came home this evening and turned on my telly and saw Queen Latifah rapping. ok nothing out of pocket there (except that she hasn't come out with a song in a minute). but then i'm looking at her clothes, then i catch the song, then i see the set she's on and then it hits me, "oh snap!", it's In Living Color!. now i know that BET runs the comedy but there's just something about it being on regular television that makes it cooler. i remember on sundays my whole family (me, my mom, my cousins, uncles, and grandma) would gather around just to watch the show. though some characters did freak me out, ie. Fire Marshall Bill, i absolutely love this show and i'm very happy that it's resurrecting itself into more homes.
ps. you know you had a crush on SW-1 and wanted to be a Fly Girl.... don't front!!!
"so i say thank you for the music//the songs i'm singing//thanks for all the joy they're bringing..." -Abba
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
i've been in need of a regular everyday bag that can go with about 90% of my wardrobe and won't break my pockets. i simply love FOREVER 21 and knew that they would have a bag that would suit my needs. i went on their site and fell in love with the Kensington bag. so i made a trip to 34th St. in NY and figured that would have it-- ehh wrong!! there was an array of bags, but not what i wanted. while looking around the three floor shop i also came across some cute headbands in colors that just reminded me of ice cream. but, some of the headbands were missing from the set. so i figured it would just be best to go back home and order the bag and headbands online. now they're here and i love them. i get so many compliments on both items and people always ask how much the bag is. when i disclose the price they're jaws drop. loves it!!
want to make people's jaws drop as well?
then shop FOREVER 21 and click here!

rumors are stirring that Amy wants a divorce from her incarcerated hubby Blake and told him last week that they're marriage was over. it's also been said that she has already fallen into the arms of another man by the name of Alex Haines. could this be a good step for Amy? i sure hope so...

"The more powerful iMac. Now running at speeds up to 3.06GHz.
Just when you thought iMac had everything, now there’s even more. More powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processors. And more memory standard. Combine this with Mac OS X Leopard and iLife ’08, and it’s more all-in-one than ever. iMac packs amazing performance into a stunningly slim space."*

for the KL site click here,

i kinda stole this from Nylon mag's MySpace bulletin. BUT, they were talking about shirts. fM is talking about scarves. now i vaguely remember when people were wearing T's that change color according to one's body heat. however if you don't remember (or weren't even born to live through it) the time has come again. ANZEVINO and FLORENCE are bringing color change back...yeah!! those solid colors don't know how to act... yeah!! lol, i tried :/
to shop and/or check out their site for this and other items (they got art too!!), click here.

the Cyrus family are causing some controversy. this and some other pics for the upcoming Vanity Fair magazine are making people think Miley is growing up a little too fast. some pictures show the "Hannah Montana" star wrapped in sheets looking very grown up-- the actress/singer is only 15 years old. but i want to discuss the picture with her father, Billy Ray, that some say alludes to some sexual reference. this is where i step in. can't a father and daughter take a picture together and hold hands? at what age do you stop leaning on you dad-- literally and figuratively? do we live in that sick of a world? i have more to say... but how about you? sound off!!

three albums dropping this week on Tuesday April 29th are Madonna's "Hard Candy", MySpace favorite Santogold's self titled debut, and Estelle's "Shine." "Hard Candy" features duets with JT and kanYe and production work with Timbaland and n.3.r.d. for "Santogold" if you're not familiar with her work, then you need to surf online and get acquainted. her voice is so out of pocket but so damn good; if you like M.I.A. with a splash of Liz Phair, then you'll like her. and for Estelle, her album is filled with soul, hip-hop, and that special thing that only Londoners can bring. she also has callabos with k. Weezy, Cee-lo, and protege John Legend. so now if you'll excuse me i have to check out the Sunday Star-Ledger and see who is going to have the best deals for these cd's. yeah... i'm going to buy cd's. i know that my girls will definitely make it worth it.

Princess of the Posse debuted the "Bamboozled T's" last year and were a very big hit. now they are back in '08 with a revamped "Bamboozled T" which is shown above (and is on my way to my house) and a set of new styles in great spring and summer colors. so be the Princess of YOUR Posse and get your order on.

oh and i'm still waiting on my scarf! lol (inside joke)

i've been listening to this album for the past week (and even as i'm posting this). the album is very, very good. i was nervous because i wasn't sure if they would be able to show up to their debut album 'St. Elsewhere'-- but they did. there's a lot of soul, haunting yet hopeful beats, and if you have a wild imagination like me, then you get to create some great images and stories in your head as you're listening to the songs. my favs are "Going On", "Run", "Open Book", "Surprise", and "She Knows". if you would like to listen to the full album on Imeem then click here.

are the designers of Heatherette going their separate ways? rumors are stirring that the lovingly flamboyant Richie Rich wants to start his own line and move out to LA to also pursue some other projects. to catch the full story according to the Daily News just click here.

i've always enjoyed artwork. but ever since i began taking my photography class this semester at Rutgers University, it's been hard for me to just look at a picture/art the same way. i can't just say, "oh that's nice." nuh-uh... i look at lines, colors, angles , patterns... all that. the first piece i saw of Takun's was "I Heart Obama". i checked out some of his other work and noticed that he does have a good range as far as the usage and non-usage of color. some pieces look as though they're bleeding with water colors, yet others have very intricate lines and details. i also enjoy how his work reflects modern pop culture from music, politics, to sex tapes. but enough of how much i like it, form your own opinion and check out his MySpace by clicking here.
ps.. the M.I.A. pic is my absolute fav!
ay Takun... where's my personal piece at yo!!?? lol

i <3 Santana's shoes (and no i don't mean that little rapper guy who rolls with Cam'ron). i'm talking about the living legend Carlos Santana. he's had a shoe line for a few years now and he's styles are like latina women; very spicy and very sexy. the new Snake Story line has been released but the pic above is displaying the Tuxedo sandal in fuchsia. so what do you think? would these be worthy of adorning your feet? i don't really see them on mine BUT there is a particular shoe in the color plantino that i do have my eyes on! so ladies (and gents) it's ooh la la or eww la la. comment away!
want to check out the other styles? then click here
not so much lol. my ex-boyfriend took me to my first Roots show in 2000 at the Hammerstien Ballroom and since then they've always been one of my favorite acts to see. i even have the cassette single of "What They Do" that i purchased from Orange Music on Main Street somewhere in my attic lol. anyway, this is a cool song i can relate to because everyone who knows me best or who has been in my car knows that i can't stand the radio and the only time it gets played is if i forgot my iPod or my cd player is acting up. a lot of this mainstream stuff out here is garbage and we all know it! so as you're "Rising Up", enjoy some good music.
ps. peep Chrisette's fuchsia nail polish...go girrrl!!

i knew there was a reason why i liked this girl other than the fact that she has an amazing voice. the London born singer Leona Lewis, who is the biggest female artist in the world right now, is part Guyanese by way of father Aural Josiah (yup, sounds about right) . get familiar and click here to hear some of her music!

take the picture out of the sterling silver Tiffany & Co. frame because Star and Al are o-v-e-r.... over!!! i mean we all knew that was going to happen and apparently Starzie is "hanging out" with some sports dude. lol i'm sure Al is too.

Naughty by Nature's Treach was arrested yesterday in NJ for driving on the wrong side of the road and was found wearing a bullet proof vest. if you reside in the NJ area then you're aware that there have been many shootings going on with some of the victims being innocent bystanders. one included a student of Newark's Rutgers University where i'm currently attending. for yesterday's shooting in broad daylight Treach has been put to question as to whether he is linked to the crime or not. although a gun was not found in his Hummer and gun was found in the area where the rapper was stopped.
also today a young boy in Linden, NJ brought a gun to school and it went off in class. the madness has to stop people!

so we got a link hook up (not a blogroll hook up so pause) on AWTG because i filled them in on the kanYe/Alexis story. although it's not a story that i would've preferred to share it's just one that had to be. so although there's a link to check out the story on fM you can click here to check out the shout out.
ps... 1. i've loved AWTG and it's pretty much the blog that made me say, "yeah... i can do this!" and
2. why did i give my baby a name that has different/hard spellings?? :/

TMZ has footage of three out of the four ND members out for dinner. now i did hear that the group was getting back together for a new cd so this outing does put some hope into that rumor. it's been long over due since the band has released any new material and i'm sure that their fans (myself included) would love to see them re-group. i mean, people who work together do go out to eat right? RIGHT??!!

according to Marie Claire UK, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld has given the o.k. for a US mini-series based on the last years of Coco Chanel's life with Shirlie MacLaine playing the fashion icon. this will be a definite watch on my Sony 20".

during the first season of Gossip Girl a lot of my friends would ask if i watched it. i would respond with the shortest answer, "no." but that "no" pretty much said, "i'm too old for that. not my thing. you've got some nerve asking me that." lol but as season two began to gear up and i'd catch the television commercials and see the actresses on the cover of my delivered mag i began to think that i should give the show a try. honestly, what else would i be doing on a Monday at 8pm anyway? homework? fuggitaboutit! lol anyway i watched the ep from start to finish and i must say, Blair is my b****. i mean, even during 90210 i was always a Brenda girl. there's just something about those bitchy brunettes that hold a dear place in my heart. and i know that GG will now be the appetizer to my main course, the Hills, on Monday evenings.

so i was online when my friend Jenine from LA sent me an IM saying "damn kanYe and Alexis broke up." i didn't believe her until she sent me the link to People magazine and i saw it before my eyes. apparently Alexis spoke the mag as she was quoted saying, "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met." now that's a classy lady.

"Yagga Yo
Eaaasssyy peoples,
So, I'm a blondie and loving it and I've been working hard in the studio. I posted a couple of new songs on the player for you all to have a listen to and get an idea of my new direction, they are just at a demo stage so don't be too hard on them. I'll probably swap some others around and play you stuff as I do it in the studio, like I did last time round. And there'll also be a new mixtape soon, I hope you enjoy this shizzle. Aiiight

what do you get when you merge eBay and vivacious vintage finds? Mama Stone Vintage is the correct answer. these pieces are so cool that all you want to do is stare at them. they are feminine, rock and roll, and mod... so if you think this may suit your style check out their eBay store here.

yup, that's Amy Winehouse. yeah, it's before her "skinny" years. yesss she's about to spark it. lol enjoy stoners.

so yesterday i was in my room and i was really feeling down because i had my hopes up for checking out the Glow in the Dark tour in NY but due to some circumstances my plan fell through. i checked Ticketmaster to see if there happened to be any tickets available and they were all out of my price range. then i remembered that there would be a show in Camden, NJ so i checked for those. i put my bid in for two seats and boom they came up and at a reasonable price--honestly how much do you expect to pay for four showstoppers? i made some calls to see who would be able to roll with me and my friend Rene was dooowwwnnn lol. soooo Saturday May 17th i have a date with Rihanna, N.3.R.D., Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West. mmm, mmm, mmm, ain't life grand? :)

they're going!!! i feel like Annie was my email bff for the day lol. i had put in an order for #13 (it was my first choice) but i got a response saying that it was a no go. i had also ordered #4 (fuchsia and black... duh) and that was affirmative. i gave my paypal info, confirmed, and now i'll be one of the fly chicks. she also emailed this pic to me and advised that it would be best to let peeps know what's still available. and remember it's FREE SHIPPING so take advantage.
ps... if you watched the Tyra Show today she had on a springy yellow cardigan and her necklace was a CL piece!!!!
i was watching Mtv Hits today and they were playing a Yo! Mtv Raps hitlist consisting of the dopest from 91-92. when i saw this i thought i was 11 yrs old again. it's like i went back to 1993 and was back in Orange, NJ lol. anyway i thought you would enjoy this as much as i did.

the coolest and nicest jewelry designer is having a sample what?? a sample sale!! Cubannie Links has been seen on some fab chicks such as Rihanna, Tyra Banks, Kid Sister and Alcia Keys just to name a few. i've already placed my order and now it's time for you to do the same. her jewels are already affordable, but this ss just makes the deal extra sweet. plus it's free shipping!!! c'mon now, how can you pass that up?

my friend Q the Prophet will be in a in one of the concert scenes, but what is a concert without an audience? so if you're free next week on the 24th and/or 25th contact him on MySpace with the subject line BIG MOVIE and you will get the info needed to be a part of the movie. now you have to email him with your name and availability for it's not an open shoot. don't miss out in being a part of this!

and he sure is... he's, unenthusiastic, lukewarm, tepid, indifferent, unfriendly, distant, remote, aloof , cold , chilly, frosty, unwelcoming, unresponsive, uncommunicative, undemonstrative, standoffish.
i was warned, but refused to listen. felt like it was me, but it really wasn't.
"i told you!" "thank God!" "don't you feel better?"
well, since everyone else is happy for me...

it's pretty much the "in her shoes" post but a little more amped and polised-- or at least that's what i'd like to believe. it's my first of hopefully more posts for the NY Fashion Connect blog page.
you know the drill... click here to check out this and other cool posts!!
ps... shout out to Hazel for even thinking of me to be a part of this :)

i was reading march 17th's Star magazine (i tend to cop mags and not read them until way later so expect a lot of maggy news lol) and read a little article about Michelle from Destiny's Child and how she's dating some guy blah blah blah. but the article said that she was 27 years old. 27 YEARS OLD??!! there is no way in God's green earth that this is true. i'm 26 and we don't even look like we should be checking off the same age bracket box. i know some entertainers lie about their age to seem "fresh" and appeal to a certain demographic, but at least say 29. if she really is "27" then she needs to new make-up person in her glam squad asap!
in february some of you knew that i went to the NY Couture fashion show for fashion week with my two friends Danielle and Antwon. when we were in line there were camera crews and photographers and inside there was a blocked off vip section with velvet ropes... just the normal things you'd expect from a fashion show taking place in club Rebel... or not lol. nevertheless, i was home due to a cold this past weekend and Mtv's True Life was on. i decided to give it a go since i love the series and will watch anything that deals with fashion. about ten minutes into the episode i recognized the designer of the NYC line and then it hit me--it was Mtv who was doing the filming and flick taking. i sat patiently waiting for any sign of myself or my friends and then about two minutes before the show was ending i saw the side of my face and Danielle looking over to her side (damn i knew i should've stayed against that pillar lol). a few days later the episode was on the Mtv site and now it's here for you all to watch. start looking for us around -1:50 (you can just drag the thingie across so there's no waiting for it to load yay). you'll see me in line briefly AND I SWEAR that's my giggle when they pan down the line, and then you'll see the three of us briefly waiting for the show to begin.
if you'd like to see the pix i took from the show on MySpace then click here
ps... i always knew i'd be on Mtv one day ;)

leave it up to Diddy to capitalize on some funny/b*llsh*t ... how does he do it? so what do ya say on the tee's; ooh la la or eww la la?
if you're on the ooh la la team, cop your tee here

i love Lily. through MySpace i became a fan like many of her other followers. on my trip abroad i was such a groupie by shopping where she shops and watching her show on bbc three. my cousin Michael from London had asked me, "what's your fascination with her?" and i responded with, "well a lot of the pop singers in America had blond hair and were very poppish. then here came this brunnette girl with this 'i don't give a f*ck' attitude and i loved it." from that point on he stopped with the cynical questions. anyway back to the cover girl-- in this issue of Glamour Lily talks about her relationships, her sad miscarriage, buying a new home, her past feuds, and being alcohol free. oh yeah, and she loves Esprit t-shirts lol (insider).
ok back to me; i saw Lily perform at Webster Hall last year and she was drinking a lot and blamed her not singing some words due to gas (of the burping kind) but it didn't make me think any less of her. however, when you like somewhat a lot--even if you don't know them personally, you're always happy to see that they are doing better than before.
pick up this issue orrrr just go to Barnes & Noble and read it with an Iced Vanilla Chai latte... low on the ice please.

ok not really, but i was doing my usual MySpacing and saw a post from Snoop saying "Be in Snoop's Video". so i checked it out and saw the link for JibJab. i was nervous because i wasn't sure if it was spam or not, but i checked it out and it's the funniest site EVER. i am soooo under the weather right now and when i created my video i was rolling. i even decided to play a prank on my Mom by telling her i had recently done a Snoop video and asked if she wanted to see it. you should've seen the look of horror on her face lol, classic. i pressed play and watched her face as she anticipated my cameo and she began to crack up when she saw my bobble head cozied up with his. anyway you have to check this out. you'll enjoy it a lot.
so last month the marchMADNESS playlist was put out and i think those of you who listened to it really enjoyed it. so to continue the musical loving path this playlist is a concoction of freshness. it's all about being down in order to get on up. you can read more to find out why i picked each song for the aprilREIGN playlist below:
1. Gnarls Barkley "Run"
nothing will ever top "Crazy" and it will go down as one of my favorite songs ever, but this song is just so fast and impulsive that you just can't help but to move to it.
2. Destiny's Child "Happy"
"i'm living// i'm able// i'm breathing// i'm grateful// to put on my happy face" need i say more?
3. KT Tunstall "Hold On"
i'm a big fan of hers and feel that her first two singles really put her in a funny place because they are the only two songs of hers that i don't listen to. but this song is all about holding on and being aware of what you have and prepping for change because the world will keep moving with or without you.
4. Maxi Priest "Wild World"
this reminds me of my ex... we met when i was taking a "break" from school some years ago and he's somewhat older than me. lately whenever we speak he always tries to lure me back into his world-- but it's not going to happen lol. anyway , this song just reminds me of things he would say.
5. Amy Winehouse "Round Midnight"
ANYTHING Amy comes out with i love. i happened to come across this song and of course... I LOVED IT!
6. Alicia Keys "I Need You"
this is my FAVORITE song on her album. it's soulful and just makes me do a screwface whenever i hear/sing it. it just makes being needy seem so beautiful.
7. Mickey Factz and N.E.R.D. "Locked Away"
i really wanted to put this on the marchMADNESS playlist, but i didn't find it to be a great fit. but it suits this playlist much better... and i just love hearing Pharrell sing.
8. Michael Jackson "PYT 2008 Remix"
i'm not going to lie, i'm not a big fan of the re-release of this album. however Will.i.am's mix of this always gets me feeling upbeat and pretty lol.
9. Yelle "Trop Bonne Pour Toi"
like a lot of people, i found out about her when she was featured as Mtv's artist of the week late in march. her music is just bright and happy and enjoyable.
10. Nouvelle Vague "Manner of Speaking"
ok so on my plane ride back home from London i watched 'A Mighty Heart' and this song came on during the last part of the film and into the closing credits. i remember just resting my head against my chair, closing my eyes, and letting the song take over. it's such a simple yet lovely song that says "nothing" yet "everything" at the same time.
11. Leona Lewis "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word"
she's big in the UK and has began to make waves in the US. her rendition of this 70's song is gorgeous and i find myself repeating it a lot.
12. Chrisette Michelle "Best of Me"
if you're not familiar with the name, you may be familiar with her vocals on Nas' "Can't Forget About You". this song just reminds me of a situation which we could pretty much hear when listening to the lyrics and in the end realizing that what's meant for you will be.
13. The Pixies "Where is My Mind"
it's a question i ask myself everyday lol. it's been ripped by M.I.A., was in the movie 'Fight Club', and is just one of those classics.
14. The Kills "Cheap and Cheerful"
from february on, every magazine i read had a piece about this duo. recently iTunes featured them and had a free download, so i said "Why not?" they're from London, the song is upbeat, i thoroughly enjoy the beginning when it sounds like she's choking (sounds gangsta lol) and it brings out my inner rock chick.
15. Madonna and Justin Timberlake "4 Minutes"
do i really need to explain?
16. Kraze "UK Grime Riddim"
i'm really feeling UK Grime music. i love the beats and the fast pace and i hope it really catches on over in the States.
17. Mavado and Jay-Z "I'm On the Rock"
as much as people may not think i am, i do love reggae music. i heard this for the first time when i was away as well and it's a great one to bump while in the whip.
18. Lupe Fiasco "Streets on Fire"
i love how Lupe can make me move AND listen to his lyrics as well. most songs you know the words from hearing it repeatedly and they become printed in your mind. but for him, i stop and open my ears.
19. Common "Forever Begins"
oh Common, let me count the ways. this is another man who i stop and listen to. the song is great, i love Pops lol, and i enjoy the texture of Common's voice and what he speaks.*
who's the lady wearing these Atlas Petrol Patent Jimmy Choo sandals?

none other than SJP at a photo shoot earlier this year in NYC. this is the woman whose character, Carrie Bradshaw, made this luxurious label a household name. remember the episode when she missed the Staten Island ferry because her shoe fell off and yelled out, "wait!! i lost my Choo!!!!" no one can deny that this series has put a major dent in the history of style. after Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda, the "fashion" was always labeled as the fifth character of the show and i just can't wait to see all of its trends in the SATC movie come May 30th.

the Kids on the Today Show this morining... *sigh* "i'll be loving you foreverrrrr" . peep though, isn't it funny how the cute ones look ehh, and the ones that looked ehh are kind of cute. this excludes Joey who was always adorable, lol.
Madonna and JT (yummy) are trying to save the world in '4 Minutes' with some help from Timbaland. are they successful? press play to find out.
ps. check out Justin's mangs (man + bangs), and his little toosh when he's dancing at 0:23.. lol. i <3 him.

Kimora is coming back with 'Life in the Fab Lane' on april 20th via the Style network. so you know what that means, more children having hissy fits, more intimidating of assistants, more of James sweating, just more , more. hmm, i wonder if there will be any appearances by her man Dijmon?
ps. did you hear the rumor that she was pregnant? now that will be something to tune in for.

it's three days into the Yo! Mtv Raps 20th anniversary celebration which will go on through the month of april. my fondest memories of the show are when i lived in Orange, NJ and i'd just lay in my mother's bed and just watch Fab 5 Freddy with those damn shades on or seeing Ed Lover make a fool out of himself with that crazy dance that i still do to this day if i need a good nostalgic laugh. lol
to get your Yo! fix and reminisce click heeerrreee
ps. do yo really think they'll do this for Sucker Free? nah b...naahhh

so i'm really feeling like i need a PC by the time the summer rolls around. yeah i have a digital camera and all, but i love the instant gratification/ retro vibe these things seem to carry. i had read on another site that Polaroids will no longer be made-- but i highly doubt it. fashion designers prepping for runway shows use these like crazy. am i a fashion designer? no. will this fit in any of my purses? sure, my big Coach carryon bag lol. but in the world of digital where we don't even have photo albums anymore, we just upload and send... it would be nice to hold the memory right in your fingertips one second after the moment passes.
