Although there's another version of this video, this is the version I grew up seeing. I love how it shows his best moves from the "Thriller" years through the "Dangerous" era. It was popular in the 90s to have artists come out with a music video that was a mash-up of all their previous ones. However, this one is definitely the best one.
Enjoy!
"It's beyond Martin Luther/ Upgrade computer."
Gwen Stefani "Long Way to Go"
With all the misfortune going on in Haiti, this song has been replaying in my mind. Although the tragedies seen in the video aren't exactly what happened in Haiti, the words in the song share the same sentiment as to what the people over there may be feeling. And to think, this was released 15 years ago.
Make donations to UNICEF; every little bit helps, and this is a tragedy that could happen to any part of the world. At the end of the day we are all human and we are all on the same earth.
The video is a bit on the freaky side; however this would so be me with Michael Jackson. I never expected this sort of video coming out of the song which is very romantic and cute, yet Lily looks absolutely gorgeous...romantic... and cute...
This is one of my top favorite hip-hop videos of the 90s. "I want e'rything/ Right now boy/ Word up!"
This video helps bring Drake back from the "Breast I Ever Had" video. [Intentional typo]. I enjoy all-star videos and the crown jewel was Eminem saving the best for last.
The year was 1995, the place was BK, the essence-CLASSIC.
I had my iPod on shuffle this week and this song was one of the chosen few, at that moment I knew it would be a good video to post. Enjoy!
Ok, so I get the concept of the video, but I may have to give this an EWW. It's not a video I would watch over and over again and it feels like it's been done before.
I like Rihanna's look with the lace/net eye wear and beret, but that's probably it. I also like the dynamic of all three artists doing a song together-BUT (and I hate to say it) I think Beyonce's voice would've been a better fit for the song. Maybe there was a conflict of interest preventing her from being on the song lol.
So what's your take on it? Ooh la la or Eww la la?
I heard this song a couple of months back when the group opened up for No Doubt. I have to say Paramore are awesome live and I'm hoping they avoid the sophomore album jinx.
ps.
Peep Hayley's up do a la Gwen Stefani in the video!
Now I want to see these girls buzz there hair to this style AND include the curl loop!
But if Michael Jackson was livin', he wouldn't let this be....
This friday I will be seeing my FAVORITE BAND-NO DOUBT live for the first time! I'm more than excited, I'm jumping out of my skin. This was the band I'd send some cash to (via my mother because I was too young to work at the time) just to receive autographed pics, stickers and tees. Posters, magazines, CDs, even cassettes-I got 'em.
And remember that classic Spin magazine that only displayed Gwen on the cover?

Yup! bought it and still have it :)
And on there most recent issue of the magazine, the whole band has graced the cover.

Also, Gwen is featured on the latest issue of Elle (cop it) and it's all about women in music. Great issue.

So, if you'll be at the PNC in Jersey screaming your head off to every single song like me, I hope you have an awesome time. I can't wait to see all of the Gwen-a-bees' style from the 1990s up to the present day. It's going to be great. Ps. Janelle Monae and Paramore are the opening acts... I'll be there early and ready.
I love this song! Although Allen claims the song isn't aimed at one specific person when I saw her live (in April) she clearly stated that it was about W and the Bush Administration. And on top of the that, the song was previously titled, "Guess Who Batman?". Mhmmm. Overall the video has a cool/quirky concept. I wish we saw Lily in the end -but hey, it showcased three of my favorite cities: London, Paris, and New York City. Now excuse me as I paint my digits orange.
You are so hard to read
You play hide-and-seek
With your true intentions
If you're only playin' games
I'll just have to say
A b-b-b-bye, b-b-b-bye
ok, ok. i know LaGa (i just made that up lol) isn't the first choice on everyone's menu, but you can't deny that you have to give the girl some credit. is she the cutest in the face? no. does she seem normal? not at all. but she knows exactly what she's doing. she can genuinely sing, plays piano, and follow some choreography while wearing some out of this world outfit that would make our grandmothers depressed. also, if you keep up with her YouTube clips, then you know that she even designs those outfits herself as well as prides herself on never lip-synching. she makes no excuses for who she is and that's what i find so refreshing about her. after listening to her music and before kanYe posted it on her site i came to the conclusion that she is the "new" Madonna. she was just as sexual, bold and made you dance.
plain and simple, you may not like the girl-but you love the Gaga.
skip straight to 3:00 if you just want to hear the song.
I've loved this song for welllll over a year and I'm so excited about this. Sooo to the left and sooo not you're regular booty shakin' swag BS, this is [as I commented on the CR Blog] "beautifully disturbing". Enjoy!!!
Amazing from kwest on Vimeo.
I was familiar with the song when the album came out, but it struck a chord in me when I was in EWR (Newark Airport) in January and I was about to embark on my first trip to Guyana. The song was playing in a music shop and all I could hear was "It's amazing/ It's amazing/ It's amazing/ So amazing" and I truly believe that set the tone for my whole trip.
