so i FINALLY got my hands in this long awaited issue. i've scoured all over Penn Station in NYC and Union County in NJ to find this. but on saturday my mission was accomplished. i came across Magazine Cafe in NYC when i did a search for the mag on Google. i gave them a call and they reserved not one, but two copies for pre-order. they gave me a call on friday letting me know it was there and it made my day. i even requested a Naomi cover and they had it put aside. this mag is history and as a magazine whore i just had to have it. now i know you're wondering why i bought two copies....eBay baby! *sings "imma hustler//imma imma hustler homie..."

it felt good to come home after a long day of looking for ribbons, picking out gold chains AND working. i love glossies oh so much!

as i'm typing this they're all by my side in bed. however you can get your own at your local magazine stand, Barnes and Noble, Borders etc. etc. etc.

as the July '08 Marie Claire mag says, "the girls are BACK", but in my world they never left. i bought this today at my local CVS not knowing that it had 4 covers (well SJP has the main cover). i'm not too wild about MC but as i flipped through it seems to have some good fashion and makeup tips along with some buzz with new music and movies for the summer. i mean, with SATC leading the mag for the month it has no choice but to be fabulous.

Tyra Banks is on the cover of the NYT mag. in her interview she says that she would like to be put in the same categories as Martha Stewart and Oprah. for our generation i believe that she is doing a good job at that; as long as she stays out of jail. the model mogul also states that she has 200 different smiles. pretty creepy as you can see in the third pic. i only have two, my real smile and fake smile :/
ps. look at mr. Jay sans the flat top... pretty creepy (what's with me and "pretty creepy" in this post?) lol

ok so i came across this cover yesterday at Hudson News in Penn Station. as much as i wanted to buy the mag to check out its contents, something about it just bothered me. i don't know if its Heidi, or the pose, i honestly have no clue what it is-- but i'm not feeling this. and the worst part is, I LOVE THE HILLS!

during the first season of Gossip Girl a lot of my friends would ask if i watched it. i would respond with the shortest answer, "no." but that "no" pretty much said, "i'm too old for that. not my thing. you've got some nerve asking me that." lol but as season two began to gear up and i'd catch the television commercials and see the actresses on the cover of my delivered mag i began to think that i should give the show a try. honestly, what else would i be doing on a Monday at 8pm anyway? homework? fuggitaboutit! lol anyway i watched the ep from start to finish and i must say, Blair is my b****. i mean, even during 90210 i was always a Brenda girl. there's just something about those bitchy brunettes that hold a dear place in my heart. and i know that GG will now be the appetizer to my main course, the Hills, on Monday evenings.

i love Lily. through MySpace i became a fan like many of her other followers. on my trip abroad i was such a groupie by shopping where she shops and watching her show on bbc three. my cousin Michael from London had asked me, "what's your fascination with her?" and i responded with, "well a lot of the pop singers in America had blond hair and were very poppish. then here came this brunnette girl with this 'i don't give a f*ck' attitude and i loved it." from that point on he stopped with the cynical questions. anyway back to the cover girl-- in this issue of Glamour Lily talks about her relationships, her sad miscarriage, buying a new home, her past feuds, and being alcohol free. oh yeah, and she loves Esprit t-shirts lol (insider).
ok back to me; i saw Lily perform at Webster Hall last year and she was drinking a lot and blamed her not singing some words due to gas (of the burping kind) but it didn't make me think any less of her. however, when you like somewhat a lot--even if you don't know them personally, you're always happy to see that they are doing better than before.
pick up this issue orrrr just go to Barnes & Noble and read it with an Iced Vanilla Chai latte... low on the ice please.
